I'm not surprised if among those raging fans turned out to be gamblers, who probably lost their money from soccer betting among friends or people, thus they got angered and blamed the team players they bet, that lead them in offensive behavior.

Indonesian people are very afraid of the Indonesian police because the Indonesian police are very cruel and cunning, corruption of the Indonesian police has become a common thing every day, there is no courage from the people for fear of being criminalized

I saw this vid even before listening to the commentary, I was wondering why they lit the tear gas there and not throw it into the crowd on the ground. That's very bad strategy from the police. The fans (if they can find them) are also responsible and definitely the even organiser should also be held responsible for overcrowding the stadium.

Y'all don't know what the actually true story was the supporters was about to hug the lose players and those officers didn't get any commands from their commander to shoot tear gas and yet they did it. They didn't considered about the underage kids that was in that match too it was the officers all along

This was mostly the police fault. So some people were fighting. So its ok to hurt everyone else? Tear gas should only be used when the majority are causing problems, at least 50% of them. I don't know how bad the fights were but I doubt it was that bad for tear gas to be needed.

in Indonesia..in football matches..the security guards from the police are used to carrying tear gas….with the aim of quelling the tantrums of anarchic fans…the police don't realize the dangers of turning on tear gas at night in humid air … will have a tremendous effect on the victim … … the victims mostly with blackened and bluish faces .. a sign of running out of oxygen

If you look at 1:20 I don't think it was initially a brawl at all. The pitch invaders came to the goalkeeper maybe to confront him verbally of their team defeat. If you continue more and more people came to the other players as well. Eventually the police had to physically push the invaders back to the stands. So I believe this was mainly not a brawl between the two team's supporters but between police and supporters. Then the police started using tear gas to the stands and that's when the disaster started
