How to Choose the Best Football Academies Internationally

So you’re ready to begin your international sports adventure, and eager take your game to a completely new level. But which football academy is right for you? Where can you find the best mix of training and exposure?

We’ll cover the fundamentals for choosing an international football academy in this article, and help point you in the right direction.

Football Academy Coaching
You can’t become the best unless you train with the best. That’s why international-level coaching staff is so important to maximize your potential.

Some international football academies will have partnerships with premier league coaching staff in their respective countries. This means you’ll be training with professional coaches on a daily basis.

Research the camps you want to attend and find out who will be coaching you and what their credentials are. How long have they been coaching? Have they coached any professional teams? What do they focus on in their training?

These are the kind of questions to ask when deciding on the perfect football academy for you.

Football Academy Scouting
Visibility is as important as top-level training. If the right people never lay eyes on you, it doesn’t matter how great your skills are. Look for a football academy with proven relationships with professional teams and scouts.

This network is invaluable for finding the right opportunities, so make sure that the football academies you consider have access to it. Find out if they partner with FIFA agents to secure professional trials for their players. Check up on the alumni of the program and see where they are now, and if they play for any professional teams. If others have found professional soccer success with the program, chances are you will, too.

Football Academy Living Conditions
Since you won’t be spending 24 hours on the pitch, you need to think about where you’ll be staying. This is where the friendships solidify, as you live and work with other elite players. Parents will definitely want to know you’re safe before they sign off on an overseas adventure. Many football academies facilitate regular communications with home and keep parents updated on player progress through the semester.

Some football academies offer an option to stay in the home of a local host family. This is a great chance to get a day-in-the-life view of how another culture lives. Players form life-long friendships in these football academies, becoming part of the global football culture.

Culture & Language
International football academies offer a full-immersion cultural experience. You’ll experience the world like never before, and carry the memories with you for a lifetime. Language immersion gives you the fastest possible learning curve, with an insider view of what life is really like in a foreign country.

If you’re making the journey, you should take time to see the sights. Will the football academy you attend give you time to see famous monuments or historical icons? Make sure you’ll get a chance to enjoy the culture of the area as much as the soccer aspect of it.

Football academies in across the world can give you the language, culture and football experience of a lifetime. So the real question is, where do you want to go?

English League Is the Best Among Football Leagues

In every football-playing country, there is a league system. The most competent clubs play in the top division league. The sport being the most popular one in the world, top-tier football leagues are watched by the crazy fans from all over the globe. In fact, the most exciting league matches find the highest number of viewers. These five leagues are as follows:

· Barclays Premier League

· Spanish League or La Liga

· Italian League or Serie A

· German League or Bundesliga

· French League or Ligue 1

Among these five leagues, Barclays Premier League is considered the most exciting one. A decade ago or so, Serie A was widely considered the most competitive league in the world. However, things have changed over the last few years since Manchester United lost their monopoly. The Red Devils – Man U are often referred to as their famous nickname – were simply unstoppable under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson. Once their golden era is over, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal are some of the big names dominating the English Premier League landscape.

This 2015-16 season, Leicester City have emerged as the Premier League champions. Premier League is no longer predictable like what we have been watching in Serie A or Bundesliga where Juventus and Bayern Munich have been champions for several years in a row. In addition to the above-specified names, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Southampton are other big names in the first-division English League. Tottenham have finished their campaign second on the league table. Chelsea have suffered a lot and failed to make a great start to the last campaign. It led to sacking of their manager Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea or the Blues managed to drive themselves back from their woeful run under manager Guus Hiddink but due to their earlier drop, they failed to break into the top four. According to reports, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are among the 20 wealthiest clubs in the world. These leagues are most televised in a number of countries. The TV rights earn the clubs millions of pound. The prize money earned by the league winner is the best in any country. The players earn the most attractive wages that can be offered in any league.

History of English League

English League has become the giant one after starting as a small one in the 19th century. They have also earned success in the European competition. Years ago, the star players from Brazil and Argentina used to prefer playing in the Serie A or La Liga. They did not think twice to snub offers from Premier League in order to show their skill in other countries. The story is completely different now. Both the Brazilian and Argentinean players now love to ply their trade in the Premier League. In fact, the star players from several football-playing countries are now eager to prove themselves in England.

English football league is marked by both pace and skill. Every year, a new club wins the Premier League title and that makes the charm of watching the league alive.

World Cup Soccer: Football That Unites The World

In every sporting event one can invariably find a player, a team, a nation, poised to become the next memorable story – a story that will survive the test of time and go down in history. The FIFA World Cup is unique, in that, every country can qualify. It is the only tournament that can unite the world with its common passion for the sport. It is a tournament where everyone celebrates, dances, and rejoices in the streets of their capitals, exulting in the spectacular feats of their players, their teams and their nation.

But what makes the World Cup particularly extraordinary is the national pride that it inspires, especially for the first time qualifiers. Since the first tentative World Cup in Uruguay in 1930, World Cup history was not only about the winner or winning the title, but about the stories. World Cup history resonates with the back-stories that echo through time – of players, teams and nations that surprised the world by achieving the unexpected. From the poignant moments of the underdogs and the worlds Cinderella teams, to the birth of legends and the brilliance of the football giants – the World Cup brings joy to every nation. It is about the stories of players, teams and nations taking it to the highest levels; the stories about emotions and pride that unites the world.

At 2006 FIFA World Cup, we welcome the heavy favorites – from the European continent and all the way to the South American continent. For these giants, winning is everything. In their spirit is held the promise of thrilling showdowns, individual feats of brilliance and the majestic harmony in motion of a team united in its quest for the world’s most coveted prize in football. Will the European contenders – Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, France, and England have the firepower to overcome the South American power forces from Brazil and Argentina, or will the world be dancing to the samba beat again this year?

What about the other European contenders, the lesser known South American teams, or the North American and Central American zone teams? Or better yet, the Australians? Let’s not overlook the African continent! Will the trophy finally make its first trip south of the Mediterranean Sea? For that matter, even the Asian continent and their desire to bring Asian football to new international acclaim should be considered.

At the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, we hope to see these underdogs, long shots, and Cinderella teams. There is always something special about the underdogs for winning is not everything to them. Simply by qualifying to walk onto the world stage, they have realized their goals and sparked the hopes of their nation. Armed with this impossible hope, win or lose, they are there to defend their national pride, and valiantly defend it they will, sometimes to the very chagrin and amazement of disbelieving onlookers.

As football fans across all continents count down to the opening day of 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, BetUS Sportsbook has launched its 2006 World Cup betting portal for soccer betting enthusiasts around the world. What a day it shall be, June 9th 2006! What a month it shall be, until the truth will set us all free on July 9th 2006! The whole world will be looking to Germany from June to July, watching history in the making. There will be sorrow, there will be joy. There will be dreams crushed, there will be dreams made. There will be silence in the streets, there will be rejoicing and dancing in the streets. After all, this is the World Cup, the tournament of tournaments. So may the best national team win!

6-a-Side Football Tactics

While most 6-a-side football games are generally won by the team with the highest fitness levels (because they can chase the ball more and track back into defense a lot quicker) and the team with the best football skills (since they can dribble round opponents better and pass the ball more sharply), tactics can play a huge part in determining the outcome. Improving your tactics is one of the best ways to upset the odds, and is the best way to improve your chances of winning if you’re the clear underdogs.

In a game where both teams’ ability is identical, the more tactically astute team will always win. That being said, it is no good simply knowing about tactics if you can’t (and don’t know how to) implement them.

Since you are only playing with 5 men (plus one goalie), the best tactics that I have found (through several years of playing 6-a-side football) are to play a 2-1-2 formation. That means that you have 2 men in defence (that rarely, if ever stray from their positions), 1 man in midfield (who links the play whilst providing support for the attack and cover for the defence) and 2 strikers up front.

The strikers also play a very important part in defending, since they must ‘defend from the front’. This means that whenever the opposing team’s backline has the ball they need to putting them under pressure so that they have no time or space to pick a pass to one of their attackers.

Aaron Sandilands

Introduction and Early Life

Aaron Sandilands is a professional Australian Rules footballer that plays for the Fremantle Football Club. He was born on December 6, 1982 and he is reputed to be the tallest player in the history of the Australian Football League (AFL). He is approximately 2.11 metres tall and weighs 122kg. He is from a town in West Australia known as Mount Baker and plays for Fremantle as a ruckman in the jersey number 31. He was drafted in the 2002 rookie draft selection as pick number 33. Prior to this selection he was playing in the East Fremantle team in the West Australia Football League. Aaron made his debut appearance in the AFL in the first round of the 2003 season in the encounter against Adelaide Football club at the football park grounds.

Aaron Sandilands Professional Career

Aaron Sandilands was elevated to the senior team in 2003 after he was picked at the rookie draft of 2002. He had a good debut season that year, playing a total of nineteen games and earning a nomination for the AFL Rising Star Award. He also received a Brownlow vote for his exceptional performance against the Brisbane Lions in the fourteenth round of the season. Aaron had an outstanding performance in the match that happened to be Fremantle Dockers first ever appearance in the league finals against Essendon Bombers. He was able to secure a total of 41 hit outs in that game.

From his first season in the AFL, Aaron continued to improve his performances on a consistent basis for the next three seasons. His rankings improved considerably with each passing season and he progressed from being ranked sixth in total hit outs for his first three seasons to second in the entire AFL in the 2006 season. In spite of these outstanding performances that he exhibited, it did not always translate to victories for his club. Sandilands had a very bad experience in the sixth round of 2006 when he had a serious injury to his jaw. He had a broken jaw in the match against West Coast Eagles where he clashed with Mark Seaby. The incident triggered an AFL investigation after which no charges were laid to any of them.

AFL Career Achievements

Aaron Sandilands has won several awards and has been named in the All Australian Team about three times in 2008 where he was on the interchange bench, also in 2009 where he was the only ruckman in the team and in 2010 as the key ruckman. He has also won the Fremantle football club awards about three times. He won the club’s best and fairest award in 2009, and came second in the best and fairest awards in 2008 and also won it in 2010. He has been experiencing what most people are referring to as career high achievements in this current season of 2011 until he sustained a toe injury recently. During the first eight games of 2011 season, he was averaging about 38.3 hit outs per game which is the highest in his career so far. He has also recorded about 18.5 disposals this year which is considered to be his career high.

Sandilands has also had his own fair share of injuries in this current 2011 season. He was earlier poked in the eye which led to him having limited vision from that eye. It was ascertained not to be a serious injury after he consulted an eye specialist. He also injured his toe recently but the good thing is that he does not have to go through surgery. He is meant to be out of play for four weeks to allow for proper healing.

Other Brands Have Sex Appeal Too

Back when I was 11, I used to think that, thanks to J.J.B. Sports, the only sports brands that existed were Adidas, Nike and Reebok. Not true. Andy Murray sports Fred Perry, the Welsh rugby team play in Under Armor and Portsmouth F.C. wear Canterbury kits. The truth is that this completely fictional, holy trinity of brands has now been superseded by a new generation of sports clothing.

For me this became apparent in 2005. I was on my way to a tennis match when on Radio 2 came a program about the rise of the word «chav». Described by Urban Dictionary as «fag in one hand, jewellery in the other», they wonder around housing estates in «imitation Adidas tracksuits». This is further complemented on television shows like Channel 4’s Shameless, and thanks to characters like Mickey Maguire the identity of the tracksuit being an an innocent staple of 1980’s football, the tracksuit has become, with the right person, responsible for crimes against others as well as fashion.

Today the blandest one-piece on the market, that was the Adidas trademark, has been replaced by apparel from brands like Canterbury, Under Armour and Kukri. Homoerotic super skin-tight base layers are the main culprit. Seemingly a size too small, many sportsman wear them to keep warm and in contact sports for «bosh-protection’. Stemmed from rugby league where it was used so opponents couldn’t grab on to shirts when making a tackle, base layers are becoming a «necessity» in all sports. No longer does your typical Premier League footballer embrace northern away trips to Newcastle on a winter night in just an away jersey.

European imports from Spain, Portugal, France, now must play in long sleeves, polar necks and base layers to keep warm. However some players just take it too far. In 2005 Ryan Giggs played in black tights to «protect his hamstrings» against Manchester City. This doesn’t help re-enforce that football is a man’s game but more of a «dress-up» by major brands on their own Barbie dolls, sorry, football players. However with this new generation of brands like Canterbury not having the arsenal, ahem, of clothing available to them some order has been restored.

Instead of the cliched university stereotype that if you have a Jack Will’s top, you have Canterbury tracky b’s, went to public school etc many others like footballers and hockey players alike are buying these clothes too. Whether rugby players like it or not.

Football News – Origin & Evolution of the Game

Football, in a wider sense, refers to different sports involving ball-kicking to varying degrees. However, in restricted sense, the sport of football is limited to only what is popularly known as soccer in some countries. It is played by most of the counties in the world and also very popular with majority of the sports-loving people.

Let us introduce ourselves to some football news from ancient past and modern days.

History of Football

Football has been played from the ancient times though in different forms. In other words, the game has evolved dramatically over the years. In accordance with FIFA, the governing body of world football, the modern-day football originated from a competitive sport namely ‘Cuju’. There are scientific evidences in support of FIFA’s claim. Cuju seems to be the first competitive sport that involved foot-kicking of the ball through an open passage into the net.

Cuju means ‘kick ball’. The game was included in a military manual as a part of exercise from the 3rd and 4th centuries BC. There are documented evidences of football-resembling activities in Zhan Guo, the Chinese military manual. The manual was compiled between the 3rd as well as 1st century BC. From the historical evidences, it is now sure that the ancient Romans and Greeks used to play different kinds of ball-games that involved use of feet.

Modern-Day Football

With expansion of the British Empire, football was introduced and popularized in the areas under direct British influence. Distinct regional codes were developed when the nineteenth century was drawing to an end. The Football League was established in England back in 1888. Football, in its different forms, can be traced throughout different periods in history. This league was the first of many professional soccer competitions. In 20th century, different types of football started growing and eventually the sport was recognized as the most popular game worldwide.

Skill in Football

The game of football involves a lot of pace and skill. In addition, the players are required to have a solid physique to withstand tackling which is very common due to physical nature of the game. The game is played between two opponent parties, which could be clubs in the league or countries on the international level. Each party has 11 players including one keeper in front of the net. Body tackling is considered a major skill in football.

Rules of Football

Every form of football has a clearly defined area of playing the game. The number of goals decides the winner of a particular match. A team scores a goal when a player from the team finds the back of the opponents’ net. A shot aimed at the opponents’ net is considered ‘goal’ if the ball passes the defined goalline as clearly mentioned in FIFA rulebook. The winner get three points from a match whereas the loser picks up nothing. If the match is a draw between the two participating teams, each of them earns one point from the game.

Soccer news from regional, national as well as world football is very interesting and football fans always keep a constant watch on the game.

Why Football Fans Need Their Own Social Network

In recent years social media has evolved from a communication tool between people to a dominant driving force on the World Wide Web. Nowadays social media has a huge impact not only on the digital realm, but also on business, politics, trends and almost all aspects of our world.

A common assumption is that social networks are totally driven by people, but that is partially incorrect, in reality social networks are driven by dominant forces and media giants. In reality people are not shaping social media, but social media is shaped for them and they just follow, which is a sad reality by itself because social networks were supposed to be driven by the people not the other way around.

How this is related to football. Football is the most popular sport on earth, more than 3.4 Billion people watched world cup 2010, almost half of the planet! And it was estimated that about 1 billion people watched world Cup 2014 final between Germany and Argentina. Traditionally football has always been covered by TV, newspapers and news websites. But in recent years social networks started taking an important portion of this coverage. With the shift from traditional news to social media news, and from computer devices to mobile devices, people now are more comfortable in consuming football news in their favorite social network, and at the comfort of their mobile devices. You can get all football news from all sources at your news feeds depending on the pages that you follow, compare this with search engines or bookmarking several websites, the first option became the more popular method of following sports events.

Although football has good presence in top social networks but for football enthusiasts that presence is lacking or not enough, for instance you still do not get updated with all football events, and as a football fan you will need to do exhausting search to follow all the pages you are interested in. Other problem is that football news are buried inside swarm of posts from all other subjects, where you cannot easily filter out posts that are not related to football.

Football fans deserve their own social network where they can talk exclusively about football and share related news and stories. They need social channels that are dedicated for football fans, where they can meet, interact and share football passion. They need a place where they can follow the latest news and matches results without the need to leave to search for the information.

In a new world governed by social media, people are becoming addicted to the ease of access to information that social media provides. And because people are obsessed with ease of access to what they are interested in, the future of social media will be shifting towards niche social networks that are specialized in specific interests and affinities.
